When faced with potential annihilation through action, and certain annihilation through inaction, the former is the only option. In the harrowing winter of 1776, Washington was faced with an undesirable prospect: dissolution of a large portion of his army through disease, exposure, and lapses of single year enlistments. The action taken on December 25th, 1776, was a critical juncture in the American Revolution. That is how we came to name the Philadelphia Chapter of the OGC in honor of Washington's gamble and the spirit in which it was taken. We aim to create and foster a brotherhood of patriotic young men in the region.

In these interesting times, in one of the epicenters of the American Revolution, we seek to build camaraderie, foster knowledge, and promote the personal growth of our members. To visit the historical sites critical to the founding of the country, build up formidable men of character, and engage in any possible civic capacity when it falls within our scope. Thus, we can stand shoulder to shoulder with the men that left bloody footprints in the snow that fateful December.
